Kyrie Irving trade saga: He will wear a Celtics uniform for the 2017 – 2018 season

After months of speculation, the Kyrie Irving trade drama has been finally resolved. He was trade to the Boston Celtics for Isiah Thomas, another two players and a future draft pick.

The Kyrie Irving burden of the Cleveland Cavaliers has finally reached a conclusion.  The premiere point guard was traded to the Boston Celtics today. The Cavs will receive Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the 2018 New Jersey Nets first round draft pick in return for Kyrie. It can be remembered that Kyrie requested to be traded to another team last July.  He wants to be out of LeBron James’ shadow and be the focal point of a new team.

Fans are getting crazy with anticipation

LeBron James

For the first time in NBA history, fans will witness LeBron James and Kyrie Irving playing in two different sets of uniform. And they will not wait that long for it to happen.  The Cavs will host the Celtics on NBA opening night at the Quickens Loan Arena.  The game is expected to break all records for viewership of an opening game in NBA history.  It might even surpass the Game 7 record of the Cavs vs Warriors 2016 Championship series.

After being one of the best Batman and Robin tandems in NBA in recent memory, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving will become fierce competitors not together but against each other.  Fans are drooling to see the sight of Irving guarding James and vice versa. The idea of the two players trading baskets and fighting loose balls against each other will be mind exploding. A fight between the two players during the game would be the best highlight of the confrontation. After 3 years of partnership which was capped by a championship, seeing these [layers wearing opposing uniforms in a game is akin to stepping into the twilight zone.

Will Carmelo Anthony willing to play for the Cavs now the Irving brouhaha is over

Carmelo Anthony
Will he now play for the Cavs
The original pronouncement of Carmelo Anthony was, he will be willing to waive his no-trade clause agreement with the New York Knicks if his final destination will either be the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Houston Rockets.  His friendship with LeBron James of the Cavs and Chris Paul of the Rockets is widely known in the organization. However, after the Kyrie Irving drama exploded, he said he does not want to be a part of it.  He would not want to go to Cleveland as a trade for Kyrie. His only option, for now, is the Houston Rocket Franchise.

The question in every Cavs fans today is, will Carmelo Anthony now willing to play for Cleveland after the Kyrie Irving drama has been settled. Melo will definitely be a big contributor for the Cavs title run this season. He will be a big help to James, Love, and Thomas to possibly dethrone the Warriors this season. It can change the NBA landscape in the years to come. LeBron might even change his mind leaving the team if they win a crown this year
